ESC United Kingdom: Josh Dubovie - ''That Sounds Good To Me'' (VIDEO)


Josh Dubovie will represent United Kingdom this year at the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song ''That Sounds Good To Me'', written by famed Stock Aitken Waterman writers and producers Mike Stock and Pete Waterman.

From the age of 9, Dubovie performed with an after-school stage club. By the age of 15 he was playing Enjolras in a school production of Les Miserables. For this role he saw a vocal coach as he had no previous experience of singing. In 2008 he won the Blues Idol competition, and has also won Voice of St Lukes contest and Billericay's Got Talent. Dubovie won Eurovision: Your Country Needs You! with "That Sounds Good to Me". He said, "The minute I heard the song I thought it was a definite winner, I'm so happy I'm going to sing it in Oslo, according to wikipedia.

Tickets on sale, monday, 8th of February


Ticket sales for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest will take off on Monday 8th of February at exactly 9:00 CET. From that moment on, a total of 90,000 tickets can be purchased through Billettservice, both online as well as through their call centre.

Three categories will be made available (A/B/C);

  • First Semi-Final (live!) - 25 May, 21:00 (doors open at 18:30 and close at 20:15)

Sunday: Semi-Final Allocation Draw


This Sunday, Host Broadcaster NRK and the EBU proudly present the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest Semi-Final Allocation Draw.

During the Semi-Final Allocation Draw, it will be determined which countries will be represented in which of the two Semi-Finals of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. Who will conduct the draw is still Oslo's biggest mystery...

The five pots look like:

  • Pot 1: Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland
  • Pot 2: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden

Latvia announced the ten finalists


Latvian broadcaster, LTV, revealed the ten lucky finalists for their national selection for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest.

The broadcaster announced the final ten at a press conference today. The following are the lucky chosen ones, to take the stage in the final of Eirodziesma 2010.

Eirodziesma is Latvia's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Sopho Nizharadze will represent Georgia


The singer, actress and songwriter, Sopho Nizharadze (also known as Sofia Sofia Nizharadze) will represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest-Oslo 2010.

Born in Tbilisi (Georgia), Sofia graduated with honors from a musical academy, and afterward went to the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. By 11 she was chosen by the French journalist Bernard Pivot to take part in his telecast on TV5 Paris, where she performed well known French song "Douce France".

Sofia writes songs and lyrics in Russian and English. She appreciates really good music and often listens to her favourite singers: Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston.

Mikheil Saakashvili, President of Georgia, named Sofia Nizharadze as one of his favourite female singers.

Vukašin Brajić will represent Bosnia-Herzegovina


Vukašin Brajić will represent, this year, Bosnia-Herzegovina, with the song ''Munja I Grom'' (''Lightning And Thunder''), at the Eurovision Song Contest-Oslo 2010.

Vukašin Brajić is a Bosnian pop-rock singer who rose to fame after participating in the first season of the music show Fame Academy (Operacija Trijumf) 2008/2009.
The show in which Vukasin finished second, was broadcast by six national television networks in five Balkan countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia, according to wikipedia.


His first public performance of the entry will take place on 7th of March, in a special program called BH Eurosong 2010 on BHT1, according to eurovision.tv .

Qualification system
The so-called 'Big Four' (France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom) are automatically qualified for the Final on the 29th of May, as their respective broadcasters are crucial contributors to the Eurovision Song Contest. As host country, Norway (NRK) is also secure of a spot in the Final, to take place on Saturday 29 May.

A mix of 50% professional jury vote and 50% televoting will determine the outcomes of the two Semi-Finals and the Final.

''Share The Moment'' - the ESC Oslo 2010 theme


The Norwegian broadcaster NRK revealed the theme art and slogan for the Eurovision Song Contest Oslo 2010. The slogan of the ESC 2010 is ''Share The Moment''.

The theme art design of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest was designed by the award-winning Norwegian design firms Gosu, Handverk and Snøhetta, based on a detailed brief of NRK, according to eurovision.tv
.

According to the same source mentioned above, the theme 'Share The Moment' will be closely embedded into the two Semi-Finals and the Final of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, as well as in the events in the weeks and months leading up to it, such as the draws, the Heads of Delegation meeting in March, the welcome reception in mid-May and after-parties.

The contest, ESC 2010, will take place at the Telenor Arena, in the municipality suburb of Bærum, which is situated in the southern part of the Greater Oslo, Norway.

Anul acesta vom putea vota gratuit la Eurovision România 2010


Marina Almasan, coordonatorul de proiect pentru selecţia naţională a concursului Eurovision Song Contest 2010, a declarat într-un interviu, în exclusivitate acordat site-ului eurovision.tv , faptul că anul acesta vom putea vota la selecţia naţională din România gratis, asta după ce o linie Tel Verde va fi introdusă.

''Respectând tradiţia românească actuală şi urmând metoda de vot din Oslo, decizia publicului român va conta 50% în decizia finală, prin televoting, iar pentru a încuraja toţi telespectatorii să ia parte , se va introduce un "Tel Verde", astfel că toată lumea din România va putea vota gratis'' declară

Totodată aceasta a subliniat faptul că anul acesta ţara noastră, plecând de la ideea că ''important este să participi şi nu să câştigi '', va dori să facă o impresie bună în toată Europa.

Marina Almasan a mai declarat faptul că ţara noastră se va concentra asupra juriului, care va fi format din specialişti, astfel încât cele 15 piese să fie alese corect, din cele câteva sute.

Oslo- oraşul gazdă Eurovision Song Contest 2010,Finala pe 29 mai


Eurovision Song Contest 2010, va fi găzduit de oraşul Oslo, Norvegia, anunţă televiziunea gazdă a evenimentului NRK şi Uniunea Europeană de Radio şi Televiziune.

Prima semifinală va avea loc marţi 25 mai, cea de-a doua joi 27 mai şi Marea Finală va avea loc sâmbătă 29 mai 2010. Locul de desfăşurare al evenimentului nu a fost încă anunţat.
Pregătirile pentru ediţia 2010 din Oslo, au început imedit după ce Norvegia a fost anunţată câştigătoarea Eurovision Song Contest- 2009 Moscova.

Norvegia va găzdui ediţia din 2010, a55-a, după ce Alexander Rybak a câştigat Finala Eurovision 2009 de la Moscova .

Eurovision Song Contest 2010, ar putea să se desfăşoară pe Telenor Arena în Oslo,Norvegia !

Telenor Arena(Oslo) va găzdui,cel mai probabil,Concursul Eurovision 2010,după ce Norvegia a câştigat Eurovision Song Contest-Moscova 2009.

Dată în folosinţă de curând, mai precis 8 martie 2009, Arena Telenor,are o capacitate totală de 23.000 de locuri în concerte.


La construirea sa s-au cheltuit 585 de milioane de coroane norvegiene.

Decizia finală,privind locul de desfăşurare a concursului Eurovision 2010,va fi anunţat de televiziunea gazdă,NRK în viitorul apropiat.
